Marine Fiberglass Grating

Category

About product

Marine fiberglass grating stands out as the superior choice for deck surfaces on ships, jetties, pontoons, piers, walkways, platforms, staircases, and landings. With its exceptional performance, FRP grating has earned a stellar reputation in the marine industry due to its resilience against the harshest marine conditions — from wetness to oiliness to icy conditions.

The structural integrity of FRP grating is unparalleled, boasting impressive strength, impact resistance, and resistance to sagging, surpassing the limitations of composite wood. Moreover, fiberglass grate is significantly lighter than steel, facilitating easy on-site customization as needed.

Marine Fiberglass Grating Benefits

  • No rotting, twisting, warping, splintering, or splitting: Fiberglass grates remains structurally sound and intact over time, avoiding common issues associated with traditional materials like wood.
  • No loose, dangerous nails or screws: The construction of frp grating eliminates the risk of protruding nails or screws that could pose hazards in marine settings.
  • No rusting or corrosion: Unlike metal gratings, fiberglass is impervious to rust and corrosion, ensuring longevity and durability in harsh marine conditions.
  • Excellent slip resistance in wet or dry conditions: Fiberglass grating provides reliable slip resistance, promoting safety on ship decks and walkways even in wet environments.
  • Withstands severe marine environments with practically zero maintenance: fiber glass grating is highly resilient, requiring minimal upkeep to withstand the challenges of marine environments.
  • Class A fire resistance (ASTM E84): Complies with stringent fire safety standards, offering a high level of protection against fire hazards.
  • Lightweight and easily cut in the field: The lightweight nature of fiberglass makes it easy to handle and customize on-site to fit specific requirements.
  • Can be colored to blend unobtrusively into the environment: Fiberglass grating can be customized with various colors to seamlessly integrate into the surrounding environment without drawing undue attention.

Marine Fiberglass Grating Surface Treatment

Our top-tier marine fiberglass grating is intricately crafted for a variety of marine uses, offering a range of specialized surface treatments including Concave Surface (Meniscus Profile), Grit Surface, Barefoot Grit, Standard Grit, Aluminum Oxide Grit, Smooth Surface, and Conductive Black Grit Surface.

Concave Surface (Meniscus Profile) Frp grating:

  • Enhanced slip-resistance in wet marine environments, reducing the risk of accidents on grating surfaces.

Grit Surface Fiberglass Deck Grates

  • Improved traction on marine decks, offering a secure footing in challenging conditions.

Barefoot Grit Frp Anti-slip Grating:

  • Safe and comfortable barefoot walking areas near water bodies, ensuring slip-resistance without causing discomfort.

Standard Grit Marine Fiberglass Grates:

  • Reliable slip-resistance on marine vessels and docks, enhancing safety in high-traffic areas.

Aluminum Oxide Grit Frp Decking Grating:

  • High slip-resistance and durability for marine structures exposed to harsh elements, providing long-lasting safety.

Smooth Surface Fiberglass Deck Grating:

  • Easy maintenance and cleanability in marine environments where slip-resistance is not the primary concern.

Conductive Black Grit Surface Fiber Glass Grating:

  • Electrostatic dissipation in marine settings, preventing static buildup on grating surfaces for safety compliance.

Fiberglass Grating Installation Method

The installation method for fiberglass grating involves the following steps:

  1. Panel Fixing to Support Bearers:
    • Fiberglass grating panels are attached to support bearers with a maximum span of 48 inches, depending on panel thickness and anticipated loads.
    • Stainless steel ‘M’ clips are used to secure the panels to the bearers, with a minimum of four clips per panel. Avoid using ‘L’ clips as they lack the strength of ‘M’ clips.
  2. Joining Adjacent Panels:
    • Adjacent panels can be joined at the edges using stainless steel ‘C’ clips where necessary.
  3. Installation Over Steel Beams:
    • If panels are installed over steel ‘I’ or ‘H’ beams and drilling through the beams is challenging, hold-down clips with extended base plates may be utilized.
  4. Changing Direction:
    • When a change in direction is needed, panels can be cut at an angle. Ensure that adjacent panels are cut at the same angle so that the load bars align when the panels are joined.
