About product

The marine electric lifeboat winch, also known as marine rescue boat winch or life-saving winch, is a specialized marine winch designed for short-term operations. It is driven by an electric motor, providing efficient power for various functions. The electric winch is available in two installation configurations: the davit-type lifeboat winch and the upright-type lifeboat winch. The davit winch is installed on a davit structure, while the upright-type winch is mounted on a seat on the ship’s deck. These winches are designed for the launching and retrieval of lifeboats or rescue and assistance boats on board ships.

There are two variations of this marine winch: left-hand and right-hand models. The lowering of the lifeboat can be controlled either through manual operation next to the lifeboat winch or through remote control, providing options based on user preferences.

Product Detail

Electric Winch For Lifeboat Davit

The lifeboat winch serves multiple purposes, including electric hoisting of the boat, gravity-assisted lowering, and manual hoisting and quick lowering using a manual quick lowering device for an empty hook. It is equipped with a manual driving unit that can automatically separate and an interlocking switch to prevent accidents caused by misoperation to the maximum extent.

During installation, it is important to ensure proper functioning. Before commissioning, the motor should be started to verify the correct rotation of the drum (rotating towards the hoisting direction). If the rotation is incorrect, the motor wiring should be adjusted accordingly.

Principle of Operation for Marine Electric Lifeboat Winch

The marine electric lifeboat winch, powered by an electric motor, comprises five key components: the electric motor, reducer, transmission shaft, winch drum, and steel cable. The electric motor serves to provide the necessary power for the winch, while the reducer reduces the motor’s rotational speed to match the operational requirements of the marine winch. The transmission shaft facilitates the transfer of power between the electric motor and the winch drum. The winch drum, driven by its dedicated mechanism, winds the steel cable around itself, effectively controlling the ascent and descent of the lifeboat and enabling smooth lifting and lowering operations.

Workflow of Marine Electric Lifeboat Winch

  • Start the electric motor: Initiate the electric motor to provide power for the electric winch.
  • Speed reduction: Utilize the reducer to lower the rotational speed of the motor to meet operational requirements.
  • Rotate the transmission shaft: Transfer power from the electric motor to the winch drum via the transmission shaft.
  • Winding the steel cable: Engage the winch drum’s mechanism to wind the steel cable onto itself.
  • Perform ascent and descent motions: Control the electric winch drum to smoothly lift or lower the lifeboat according to operational needs.

The Features Of Marine Lifeboat Davit Winch

This marine davit winch offers the following key features:

  • Working Load: It can handle loads ranging from 25 to 100 kN, indicating its strength and capacity.
  • Lifting Wire Speed: The marine davit winch achieves a speed of over 36 m/min for lifting boats, ensuring quick deployment.
  • Lowering Wire Speed: It allows for controlled lowering at speeds between 80 and 96 m/min, ensuring safe descent.
  • Wire Diameter: with a 12.5 to 24mm accommodated wire, the marine davit winch for lifeboats provides flexibility for different requirements.
  • Drum Capacity: Its drum can store 45 to 60 m of wire, enabling sufficient storage for various operations.
  • Motor Power: It is equipped with a motor power ranging from 12.5/12.5 to 45/45 kN, indicating its strong driving capability.
